The Quality and Progression Manager is a new role that will report to our Legal Director and support the work of our Compliance Team.

The role would suit an experienced Litigation Fee Earner who is looking to step away from a fee earning role and become more involved in quality control, file audits, supporting fee earners and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a continuous cycle of file reviews across all fee earners
  • Make use of internal reporting to identify, review and monitor files with a greater risk profile
  • Provide support and guidance to fee earners on case progress
  • Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues that arise and identify improvements that can be made
  • Provide feedback to the Learning & Development Team to facilitate training where required
  • Review management and business information metrics, suggest improvements and how information can be used to assist fee earners and managers
  • Report on caseloads, key metrics and performance indicators for all fee earners
  • Assist with the compilation of internal compliance and efficiency reports
  • Maintain an accurate record of all audits and other activities
  • Identify knowledge gaps and assist with the design and provision of additional training

Essential Qualities & Experience

  • Extensive experience in quality complex litigation fee earning role
  • Knowledge of the standards required within a law firm regulated by the SRA
  • Understanding of quality and performance metrics
  • Highly motivated, proactive self-starter with sound judgement and professional maturity
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Effective communicator able to operate at all levels and act with sensitivity where required
  • Make decisions and recommendations based upon legal and regulatory knowledge whilst also considering commercial outcomes and tactics
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the firm
  • High level of IT literacy and experience of case management systems

Desirable Qualities & Experience

  • Previous file auditing experience
  • Knowledge of Lexcel
  • Current professional registration i.e. Solicitor, CILEX, Barrister

This role is available on both a full or part-time basis.
