Christian Cameron, Litigation Executive with JB Leitch Solicitors, has been awarded the Advanced Apprentice of the Year 2016 and Overall Apprentice of the Year 2016 by Damar Training.
Chris, having achieved excellent results in his exams, including a distinction in the contract examination, played a significant part in a recent restructuring of the Ground Rent Department at JB Leitch, accepting supervisory responsibilities and making the transition with sensitivity and professionalism.
Having joined the firm in 2011, Chris has gone from strength to strength and become an invaluable member of the ground rent team at the niche practice. Specialising in the provision of legal solutions to the property management sector, acting for large, institutional landlords on all aspects of the industry from debt recovery to complex, technical breach of covenant claims JB Leitch offers a range of apprenticeships.
On his win, Chris said “I am very grateful to JB Leitch and Damar for allowing me to undergo the apprenticeship and am delighted that my hard work has been recognised. I hope to continue developing my skills and knowledge to progress in my legal career and grow as an individual within the firm”
Andy Hull, Operations Director at JB Leitch and head of learning and development at the firm said: “We’ve seen great performances and commitment from all our legal apprentices during the past year and I’m delighted that Chris’s efforts and achievements have been recognised with this well-deserved award.
“Learning and development is woven into the fabric of the business and we’re very proud our apprenticeship programme which covers both legal and support roles.”
Damar Training is a long established apprenticeships provider and has worked with thousands of apprentices in many different businesses. Damar introduced the awards to recognise best practice and achievements in apprenticeships.
Jonathan Bourne, Managing Director of Damar Training commented: “Christian’s nomination stood out, primarily because of the breadth of his achievement and the astonishing progress that he has made as an apprentice. As well as performing extremely well in his advanced apprenticeship in legal services, Chris has taken on significant additional responsibility at work and is clearly adding value to the business.
“I am confident that this is just the start of a very successful career. Our congratulations go to Chris and I would also like to thank Andy Hull and the team at JB Leitch for their commitment to apprenticeships.”
