As Risk & Compliance Director, Andy is responsible for ensuring the firm manages regulatory, professional, operational and reputational risk in a practical and proportionate way. He works closely with the leadership team, legal professionals and business services colleagues to support both client-facing work and the firm’s internal operations, helping the business navigate risk while maintaining excellent standards of client service.
Andy has extensive experience in legal operations and compliance, with a strong background in regulatory frameworks, complaints handling, data protection and professional standards. Throughout his career, he has focused on making complex regulatory requirements accessible and understandable, providing practical guidance that supports busy legal teams in their day-to-day work. His expertise spans both operational compliance and strategic improvement, including strengthening systems, processes and controls while enhancing firmwide awareness of risk management.
A key part of Andy’s role is helping the firm balance effective risk management with commercial reality. He supports better decision-making by identifying the core issues, assessing potential risks and working collaboratively with colleagues to find sensible, proportionate solutions. He is passionate about building a culture where compliance is understood, embedded and viewed as an enabler of good business practice rather than a barrier to success.

Outside of work, Andy enjoys cycling and taking on DIY projects, both of which provide plenty of opportunities for problem-solving, persistence and the occasional calculated risk.
