Celebrating Apprenticeship Week 2023

We’re celebrating Apprenticeship Week 2023 and the pathways we provide for talented and hardworking learners across the firm. We’re also proud of the commitment, energy and enthusiasm our apprentices contribute.

Apprenticeships are a type of qualification that combines study with practical training in a job. Apprenticeships are available at multiple levels, from school leavers, people upskilling in their careers and complete career changes.

Our apprenticeship programme has been established for over 9 years, and we have seen over 50 apprentices qualify across the firm in a broad and diverse range of roles - from business support and finance, to our legal teams and IT departments.

We partner with Damar Training, who has a 40-year legacy of successfully delivering professional and business apprenticeship training. We work closely with Damar to ensure our apprentices feel heard and supported throughout their course.

With 8 apprentices, and with some due to complete their apprenticeship in coming weeks, we have recently introduced the “Apprentice Network” – an open forum for all our apprentices to meet once every two months to share their apprenticeship experiences and advice amongst themselves.

As the apprenticeships vary by roles and responsibilities, there is not one distinct pathway available. Apprentices are offered opportunities depending on competence post qualification. Where possible we aim to keep apprentices on to further their careers at JB Leitch, for those who show high potential, we work to identify where their skills may be best placed.
